SVN Advisors & Staff:
It is my pleasure to officially announce an exciting new opportunity within SVN®. We have partnered with a highly successful and experienced hotel brokerage group out of Raleigh, NC lead by Sanjay Mundra and Don Walston. Their leadership will include a significant commitment in both time and money to grow the SVN share of the hospitality space exponentially in order to become a major national player in 36 months.
We believe that the hospitality vertical is vastly underserved and SVN is perfectly positioned to capture market share – we have both the quality of advisors and the distribution channels required to put a dent in the market.
Sanjay Mundra, Chairman of SVH Hotels and serial entrepreneur will become Chairman of the hospitality council as we merge the two groups together (SVN Hotels™ will become the council). Sanjay is committed to assisting all of SVN in this endeavor and especially those that want to expand their hospitality practice.
Please join me in thanking and congratulating the existing council leadership for all the fine work they have done. We would not be able to grow the segment without the time and effort that has been put in on all of SVN’s behalf. I would be remiss if I did not single out Tom Hamm, who has been our “go-to” person for hospitality for many years and a tireless advocate. More recently Natvar Nana and Brian Resendez have done an exceptional job helping to build on the foundation that Tom began. Brian and Tom have volunteered for significant roles in the council going forward. Tom has accepted a role as Director in the new council. Natvar has decided to take a break from the council leadership.
The goal of SVN Hotels™ is to develop qualified SVN hospitality professionals in key markets around the country. These will be individuals and/or firms who have a history and ability to conduct transactions at a high level.
Each of the offices that are asked to conduct business on behalf of SVN Hotels™ will remain independently owned and operated. Naturally, we will continue to assist advisors and firms who occasionally list a hospitality property – and you will continue to leverage the hospitality council as you normally would.
Linked here is an introductory letter that I asked Sanjay to pen. I thought it appropriate that you hear from him directly.
