I am extremely excited about Kevin’s announcement regarding the launch of SVN Hotels™. This is an industry that is expected to exceed $41B in transaction volume this year and SVN and SVN Hotels are prepared to capture our fair share of this market.
We had a “soft launch” of the new venture recently with the Governor of North Carolina, Diane Danielson, and other dignitaries in attendance in September. We received great national press and put the industry on notice that we were serious about growing the hospitality segment. Since that time the svnhotels.com web site has been totally re-engineered and will include the hospitality standard RCM1 marketing platform. Additional upgrades to the site are in the works and will be appearing shortly. We have an aggressive “roll-out” strategy that has been created using an award winning marketing and public relations firm. This strategy includes but is not limited to press releases to all the major business and industry related publications the likes of Wall Street Journal, Associated Press, Bloomberg, National Real Estate Investor, Hotel Management, Hotel Business and Lodging just to name a few.
We have also scheduled an 18-month digital and print ad campaign beginning this quarter in all the major industry and trade publications, including Hotels magazine, Hotel Business, AAHOA, Hotel Management, NREI, HotelExecutive.com and Hotelnewsnow.com. A substantial marketing piece is being designed and will be distributed both electronically as well as through the USPS to over 200 of the top hotel executives and firms in the nation. We will continue our push for recognition by having a presence at the majority of the major industry and brand conferences.
Hotels are a $41B industry. As Kevin alluded to, my desire, and the desire of SVN Hotels is to continue the fine work Tom Hamm, Brian Resendez and Natvar Nana have started and to grow the number and quality of hospitality professionals throughout SVN. The first step is through participation on the hospitality council calls. I will welcome any and all advisors who have the interest and desire to learn and succeed in this exciting market.
